Brooklin-Whitby Garden Club
The Brooklin-Whitby Garden Clubis a volunteer organization founded in 1921 to provide a welcoming environment for all who enjoy creating attractive gardens for themselves and to help keep the public spaces of our community beautiful.
Our members come from all areas of the Brooklin/Whitby area. Over 100 members attend our monthly meetings with guest speakers and horticultural competitions. Member volunteers help with our annual events such as plant sales, Spring Fair float, the monthly flower shows and the Brooklin Harvest Festival. Members also help to maintain our community garden projects, and get to tour outstanding gardens in and around Brooklin and Whitby. The Sunflower is the official flower of our club. Our Website provides information on our activities and events, encourages guests and all members to attend our meetings, and provides useful gardening information for all who visit. A listing of the planned shows and events for 2020 is now available. View the 2021 schedule here. In 2020, The Board and members of the BHS voted to re-name our organization the Brooklin-Whitby Garden Club, in recognition of its Brooklin and Whitby members, working together, and as a modernization of the organization and its objectives. |
