Whitby Station Gallery

2026 GALLERY DATES
The Station Gallery volunteer group gets together every May to plant up 18 large planters at the Station Gallery in south Whitby. The gallery is a non-profit organization and appreciates the contribution we make to this space. The public enjoys our cheerful planters upon entry to the facility and on the back patio, where on Thursday evenings in the summer, music and dancing are yours to enjoy. Come join us at planting time! Planting is usually completed in about 3 hours. A weekday planting and a weekend planting date will be available. Fall cleanup is usually done one morning in September, to remove or transplant items that are overwintered in the gallery. The gallery staff water the plants on a day-to-day basis, but the volunteer group takes turns visiting once a week for maintenance: to prune off dead blooms, check for pests, and fertilize. Each member visits 2-3 times during the summer for these maintenance visits. In 2025 we had 12 volunteers, so there is no heavy time commitment. Perfect if you have a busy life but would like to help out in the community. Just tick the box labelled "Station Gallery" on your membership form to be part of this group.

When: Volunteers meet twice annually: once in late May and once again in September to clean up. Team members take turns doing weekly maintenance visits to fertilize & remove spent blooms.
